Images of life: Window shopping

If you are ever caught by a red light at a busy intersection on the streets of Manila, you are bound to be surrounded by a horde of vendors who are offering everything from rags to racks for sale during the long countdown while waiting for the light to change to green.

I have to assume that these guys have their sales pitch timed to the second, knowing how long they have to press for the sale and collect their funds before the light changes to green. I have not encountered any situation – yet – where their efforts came in direct conflict with traffic flow, causing the steady blare of car horns honking for them to move away…

Of course, seeing these guys plying their wares may be more entertaining to watch than texting…

Until next time
