It was that time again…

Workers who tended to the land for the past season of rice growing gather together to complete their annual task. That is, to gather their bounty of rice stalks and place them in the thresher to separate the head of the stalks from the straw.

Before these machines were made, threshing was done by hand, a very laborious and time consuming chore. These days, even with the machine, it’s still a chore..

A very valuable and treasured piece of equipment, the motor is carried separately daily  to the fields, and returned to secured quarters when the day is done.
