the barrio: welcome

Another early morning and just about everybody is up…has been up.

Each time I take these morning strolls, I’m sometimes met with a look of surprise; other times the people find they have better things to do instead of studying me…

But nearly always there are warm welcome signs, and occasionally IĀ get a laugh when I try my attempts to speak Tagalog; magandang means beautiful and can be used in reference to mornings, or women..
